Obituary

Toreita LaShawn Davis, affectionately known as
"Shawn or Rita", went home to be with her Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, with
family by her side at Medical City Hospital in Dallas,

Texas.
Toreita was born on January 7, 1975, in Dallas, Texas to the parents
of Addie Burroughs and Lucky Gray. At an early age, she accepted
Christ as her personal Savior and united with Hopewell Missionary
Baptist Church in Dallas, TX. She later joined Greater New Birth
Baptist Church in Plano, TX.
Toreita, attended and received her education through the Dallas
Public School District. These schools included Julius C. Frazier,
John B. Hood, and James Madison High School. Toreita, attended
medical training and graduated as a Medical Assistant in 2006.
Toreita was a visionary and pioneer who started her business called
"Maids in Texas"; as the co-founder she helped to lay the
groundwork for key contributions in her field. Toreita Davis was
employed by United Health Care, also known as Optum for several
years and remained employed until her passing.
In her leisure time, Toreita enjoyed laughing, eating "good" food,
fellowshipping with friends and telling jokes. She could brighten up
any room. Her heart was the size of Texas. She loved helping others
when she could. She was loved and admired by many.
Toreita will forever be remembered by a family that loved and
cherished her dearly. These memories will forever be honored by
her loving and devoted children, Rodney Crow (Keri), and Caldon

Waters; one brother on her mother's side, Mark Davis; three sib-
lings on her father's side, Kennitha Clark Henry, Stanley Gray,

Lucky Clark; grandchildren, Rori J. Crow and Rodney D. Crow,
nieces, Maranda Smith, Markeisha Davis, Tanisha Davis, Camaya
Smith; a nephew, Roderick Smith; aunts, Betty Johnson (Darryl),
Carrie Bird, Helen Hodges; uncle, Michael Davis and a host of
cousins and friends.
"Toreita's life was a blessing, her memory a treasure.
She's loved beyond words and missed beyond measure."
