Wayne "Spanky" Edward Walker was born on September 5, 1954, to the late Louie B. Walker and Ethel Lee Reedy Walker in Italy, Texas.

Wayne received his education at Italy High School. After high school, he moved to Denison, TX and years later to Sherman, TX. While there, he worked for the Sherman Health Care System until he retired in 2012.

In 2018, he moved back to Italy to enjoy his retirement. He found happiness and joy sitting outside playing dominoes and listening to music with friends, family, and whoever came by. He found pleasure in firing up the pit and spending time with his near and dear family and friends. His love for his family was family was boundless; always there to lend a hand or a listening ear. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan, never missing a game through good seasons or bad!

Wayne E. Walker gained his wings on November 29, 2025. He was preceded in death by his common-law wife, Stacey Williams; his parents, Louie B. and Ethel Walker; sisters, Margaret Walker, La Ruth Hooks, Laura B. Walker; brothers, Louie B. Walker Jr., Arthur Walker, Milton Walker, George Walker, Ray Walker, Bobby Walker and Larry Walker.

Wayne leaves to cherish his memories: one sister, Geneva Jones of Italy, TX; one bonus stepson, LaWayne Farrow of Sherman, TX; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives, his Mt. Gilead MBC family and friends.
