William Lawrence Johnson, known as "Skip" to many, the son of the late Lottie Mae Miller and Father Frizzel Johnson, was born on September 14th 1948 in Neptune N.J. Skip attended Neptune High School and graduated in 1966 and enlisted in the United States Army. There, he received numerous military awards and honors as a Vietnam War Veteran.
After serving in the military, Skip attended Brookdale Community College and became a certified machinist. He went on to dedicate over 25 years of service as a machinist at Earl Naval Weapons Station in Coltsneck New Jersey before retiring. He also worked for the Department of Public Saftey of Texas, where he retired in 2011.
On June 15th, 1974 Skip married his loving wife and better half, Joyce Mckinley, and together they enjoyed a wonderful 48 years of marriage. Skip enjoyed bowling, fishing, and most importantly, spending time with his family. Skip exemplifies the true definition of what a family man is.
He leaves to cherish his legacy: Wife, Joyce Johnson, Son, William (True Power) Johnson, Daughters, Wanda Mckinley, Kamesha Byrd, Veronica Winslow, Daughter -In-Law Desirie (Tasia Napreme) Johnson, Grandchildren, Prince Johnson, Amahla Johnson, Ericka Mckinley, Brothers, David Johnson, Joseph Johnson, Eugene Johnson, Sister, Evelyn Mcghee, and a host of other relatives, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and a large number of friends. Skip was loved by many, and will be missed by all!
