IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Willie Mae
Christopher
October 16, 1929 – June 8, 2018
Willie Christopher was born on October 16, 1929, in Nacogdoches, TX to Tommie Hayter-Davis (who preceded her in death) and was raised by "Mama" and "Papa", her beloved Grandparents (who preceded her in death). She was a loving wife, mother grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Willie attended E.J. Campbell School, and later married Fred Christopher, and they had two daughters.
She loved the Lord and accepted Him at an early age. Her favorite ministry was ushering, which she began doing at a very young age. Her second favorite ministry was cooking, which she demonstrated often to family, friends, and her church families, Allen Chapel AME, Riverside, CA. and Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Plano, TX. And boy, could she cook … really going to miss her pound cakes, sweet potato pies and collard greens.
She is preceded in death by her mother Tommie Davis; step-father Sammy Davis; Grandparents: Richard and Jennie Hayter; Siblings: Jimmie Lee Patton, Rose Grigsby and Harold Gene Davis.
Willie leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters: Patricia Smith (William), and Freddie Mays; grandchildren: Kristina Thomas (Walter), Eraina Claridy (Clayton), Karla Mays, and Royce Mays; great grandchildren: Ashton Smith-Woods, Taylor Thomas, Seth Hammond, Kalyn Thomas, Tyson, Thomas, Claudia Claridy, Griffin Thomas, and Trey Hammond; great-great grandchildren: Julian Ruben, Cayden Smith, Malachi Darden and Madison Darden; siblings: Laverne Kimbro, Nathaniel Davis, Bertha Mae Brown, and John Lacey Davis
Willie also leaves to cherish her memory Jenny V Hall, Mary Bassett, Dee Brazile, Earlene Driver, Tanya Ashley, The Woods Family, Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Family, and host of nephews, nieces, special friends, other relatives and saints.
