A GLIMPSE AT THE LIFE OF
Willie Charles Johnson, III
Willie Charles Johnson III was born on December 3rd of 1983 to his
parents Linda Edwards & Willie Johnson, Jr. and was the youngest of
5 siblings. He was a fun-loving child, and his family & loved ones
affectionately called him Bubba. Bubba highly excelled in sports as
an adolescent, but football was his passion! He was a youth football
star for many years where he won several trophies and medals. Once
Bubba had the ball, he was unstoppable. His team & fans called him
"Free Willie"! He loved the Dallas Cowboys, and he thought Emmitt
Smith was the goat! He spent a lot of time at church when he was
younger, so he had that foundation, and it's that foundation that sustained him. Willie loved hanging out with his friends as a teenager. In
his late teens, he suffered from a traumatic experience that altered his
mental state. This unfortunately led him into a lifestyle that weighed
heavily on his mind, body, & soul. He was a humble man that was
loved by so many. Once he had his mind made up about something,
only God could change it. He enjoyed staying on the move, and the
city of Grand Prairie was his stomping ground. He loved Grand
Prairie, and Grand Prairie loved him back. He passed away on May
31st, 2023 at the age of 39. His family loved him dearly, and our
hearts are heavy and broken. We have found solace in knowing that
his mind, body, and soul are now resting in peace. Our Bubba is gone
but will never be forgotten.
Willie is preceded in death by his father Willie Johnson, Jr. and he is
survived by his mother Linda Edwards, his siblings: Tracy EdwardsRandle (Matthew Randle), Regina Westmoreland, Floyd Edwards
(Carol Edwards), & Barbara Aguilar (Antonio Aguilar, Jr.); his
nieces & nephews: Hope Westmoreland, Joy Westmoreland, Chloe
Edwards, Peyton Westmoreland, Briauna Aguilar & Antonio Aguilar
III; and his great niece Jordyn, and his honorary grandmother the late
Luethel Stephens & family who are all a part of our extended family
along with many other dear family members and friends
