On February 13, 2018, Willie Lewis, Jr., departed this life peacefully at his home in Dallas, Texas.
Willie, (Sam) was born on April 22, 1938 in McCurtain County, Idabel, Oklahoma to Willie Lewis Sr. and Myrtle Lee Lewis. He attended Booker T. Washington High School where he was an outstanding student and star athlete. After high school graduation, Willie joined the US Army. After his tour of duty in the Army, he relocated to Lubbock, Texas where he worked in the Construction Industry. He was transferred to work on a project in the Dallas area where he remained until his death.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Maple Springs Baptist Church in Idabel, Oklahoma. He was a wonderful, thoughtful and loving big brother who loved his family dearly. His Good-bye always ended with "Be Sweet Now!"
He is preceded in death by parents; Willie Lewis Sr. and Myrtle Lee Lewis; Two Brothers; Martin Lewis II, Cleveland Lewis and One Stepbrother; Samuel Hill, Jr.
Willie leaves to cherish his memory, brothers: Ernest Lewis, Denver, CO; Jimmy Nolan, Idabel, OK; Kenneth Nolan, Las Vegas, NV; sisters: Roberta Liggins, McKinney, TX; Sarah McKinney, Jessie M. Rutledge and Bettye J. Lewis, Oklahoma City, OK; Arnetha D. Steele, Annette Nolan and Theresa Carter, Denver, CO; Bobbie J. Lewis, Virginia Beach, VA; Vilma Perry, Fresno, CA; Stepsister; Velma Paul, Shreveport, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
