Willie D. Mosley was born in Merced, California on April 19, 1954, to Mr. Murphy D. Mosley and Mrs. Willie Jean Mosley Craven Cook. He was the second oldest of 10 siblings.
He attended school in Plainview, Texas. Willie D. lived in Plainview, Sherman, Corpus Christi and Arlington, Texas.
Willie D. accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a young age. He was a former member of United Baptist Church in Plainview, TX. Over the years, he often attended Sunset Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, TX.
He worked on offshore drilling platforms in South Texas until he was injured. He also did great mechanical work.
Willie D. was protective of his family, and loved them with all his heart. He was such a proud father who thought the world of his children and, they loved him dearly. His nieces and nephews were fond of him also; they thought he was the coolest uncle there ever was.
He was outgoing and lived life to the fullest. He found joy in spending time with his family and friends, listening to music, playing dominoes and having fun. He will be remembered as a big trash talker and the life of the party. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Willie D. is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one son, Willie D. Mosley, Jr. (Twiggy); two sisters, Vera Mosley West and Cora Beard; and one brother, J. Horace Mosley.
He leaves to cherish his memories 6 daughters, Catherine Mattingly of Dallas, TX, Pamela Alexander (Ernest) of Austin, TX, Charolette Mosley of Sherman, TX, Aireinna Mosley of Fort Worth, TX, Brianna King of New Jersey, and Keinna Jenkins of Denton, TX.
Willie D.'s memory lives on with his five sisters, Jennie Carroll, Gladys Durant, Bulah Harrison, Joann Elgin (James) all of Arlington, TX and Donna Evans of Corpus Christi, TX; brother, Earnest Mosley (Sara) of Arkansas, KS; a special nephew, Bobby Mosley (Sadie) of Hobbs, New Mexico; 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; a special friend, Melissa Summons; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
