Obituary

An Amazing, Loving and Kind God-Fearing Woman who truly without a doubt, loved God.

Yvette English was born on September 1, 1963 to the parentage of Wilson Pickens and Olivet Pickens. Wilson and Olivet raised an intelligent, beautilful, honest and kindhearted lady. She confessed Jesus Christ as her personal Savior early in life.

Yvette loved to cook and play games. Her all-time favorite game was Monopoly (even though it seemed to cause arguments and almost break up the family…lol). She also loved to crochet and loved the outdoors. She developed an appreciation and had a genuine, unwavering love for what nature and simply being outside provided for her. It gave her a sense of peace. So, whatever she could find to do outdoors, she would do it!

Yvette was a devoted mother. She always put the care of her boys before herself. She loved her young men and would do anything for them. She taught them to be strong, loving, men.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three loving sons, Jerome, Jonathan and James (deceased) English; younger brother, Wilson Pickens, wife Causandra Pickens, along with his son Xavier Pickens; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She also leaves behind her ex-husband, Sheeley James English, Sr. Yvette and Sheeley, Sr. remained close friends and stayed in touch until her demise.

Yvette will be reunited with her oldest son, Sheely James English Jr., of whom went to be with the Lord in August 2023.

Yvette English did all that she could to be the best mother and friend that anyone could ask for. Now, she has gone to a better place…a place where there's no more sickness, no more heartaches, no more pain. She's in heaven where there's joy, peace and love. She is with God and many loved ones that we lost.

She and Sheeley are now our guardian angels. They're looking over us and waiting for us as well. We will miss her dearly. She will always and forever be in our hearts.
