IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Yvonne Yvette
Wallace-Ellis
August 21, 1970 – June 4, 2025
On the eve of August 21, 1970, Yvonne Yvette Wallace-Ellis was born to Bertha J. Wallace and her anxiously awaiting father, the late Henry E. Wallace. Her early years were spent in Rowlett-Garland (on the hill) filled with love, discipline, and fun summers, alongside her big brother, the late Rodrick T. Wallace and sister Andrea L. Wallace and all of her 1st cousins from both sides of her tribe.
Throughout her youth in Garland ISD, she was actively involved in track, volleyball, basket-ball, choir and her Sims Chapel MBC Community. After graduating from Lakeview Centennial High School in 1988, she furthered her education at UT Arlington and DCCCD pursuing de-grees in Political Science and Paralegal studies. In her spare time, she quickly became a staple in the D/FW underground music and car communities. She went on to follow in her father's footsteps and began a 15-year career with the United States Postal Service.
Her next stop was going to be Europe when she embarked on a surprise trip to motherhood and in the winter of 92' the village was blessed with the birth of Krystina "our baby" Wallace. Four years later she would go on a date with the man she would spend the rest of her life with LaDa-ryll E. Ellis, and gained another daughter, fearless leader, and the oldest of the bunch, La'Kya Smith. Their official union on March 01, 2002 would lead to the family growing again in 98' when the "princess" Daria Ellis was born, followed by their two sons back-to-back to complete the circle; "handsome son" Joshua Ellis in 07' and her last "pride and joy" Nate Ellis in 09'.
On June 1, 2013, after taking a leap of faith and changing her career path, Yvonne graduated at the top of her class for medical billing and coding where she flourished in the field of her dreams. Through her life & walk she always moved by faith and not by sight. So, when she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in the fall of 2023 there was no hesitation at all in choosing to fight for her life and community she built. When she smiled the world lit up, and when she laughed the world & tickle box would turn over. Her impact on each encounter was unforgettable. Her reason for surviving was to keep this world lifted, see her children succeed, and continue to see her marriage to LaDaryll stand the test of time.
She fought valiantly for two and a half years but as we all know, cancer SUCKS! On June 4th, 2025, surrounded by all of those she fought for and loved, Yvonne transitioned into glory. The battle with cancer was lost but her win for perfect peace was gained as she was met at the gates by her father, father-in-law, cousins, brother, aunts, uncles, and all who have gone before her.
Honor her love and laughter and go forth with a Luke 23:28 spirit. Weep for her not, as she is with the Lord and continues to live through her husband, 5 children, 4 grandchildren (Paris Paterson, Jr., Lauren Paterson, A'zay Paterson, Knova Paterson),and nephew (Preston Wallace).
